April, Foolz / Historys Greatest (sardless) Twits Part I

April sure was a long month, in fact it was the longest April on record since 1962. April was long enough to prevent me from accurately recalling anything that happened musically as it all seems so long ago in the past. Records indicate me listening to (any enjoying) Infinito 2017 - We are Dark, Inspectah Deck - Manifesto and some old Public Enemy records. This month (May) in memory of the late Guru I intend to listen to every Gang Starr record.

Macron1 Presents: April, Foolz / Historys Greatest (sardless) Twits Part I

It is May - Happy May! That can mean only one thing. April was last month. And with months past, as is tradition around here, we trawl through the several billion gigawangs of hot musical information that passed through our @sardless twitter, distilling the deluge to its crystal essence, with the cream rising to the top, as it were.

April 1 The bros at @NoumenonBros are getting pumped to release their highly anticipated (by me) "Party Mathematics" EP (due 4/5), in the meantime have been drip feeding tracks off of it, hence this post. My dudes got new RT @NoumenonBros NEW SONG POSTED: ALGORESRHYTHM!!! CHECK IT OUT NOW http://bit.ly/9HReHh

April 1 There was that whole "Shut Up, Dude" mixtape from Das Racist thing that happened in April that everyone got all jazzed about (including sardless - review here). This is the point when we twitted about it and pointed to a link containing the whole thing for your consumptions! More awesome use of dude: Das Racist - Shut Up, Dude Mixtape: http://usershare.net/fawr9zq5fi1o [via @stereogum]

April 1 Sad truths about this whole twitter thing thing were exposed here: Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything. 14% of people know that: http://bit.ly/9czrIs

April 4 In which The Roots gave us a collection of Dilla instrumentals they just happened to have done, FOR FREE (obv. gettin paid way too much on Late Night w. Fallon - j/k). Interesting concept done interestingly: RT @gopisangha: a real good listen - RT @eastofla: New blog post: The Roots | Dilla Joints http://eastofla.com/?p=1375. Later in April (April 16), some clever dick mixed this into the Dice Raw | Dice Dilla Pregunta Mixtape, which is also a good listen: more mixtape lovin RT @questlove: RT @BiggerThanBlogN: Dice Raw | Dice Dilla Pregunta Mixtape: http://ow.ly/1zKqs

Oh, and turns out it this Mos Dub remix WAS a good idea: It is an idea. A good one? U DECIDE RT @largeheartedboy: Mos Dub remixes Mos Def with classic dub reggae tracks http://bit.ly/dy9rOf

April 11 This month we got not one but TWO disgusting music vidoes from ol' sardless favs HEALTH and M.I.A. The first of those: my dudes HEALTH scaring girlies RT @_HEALTH_: WE ARE WATER :: MUSIC VIDEO :: http://bit.ly/c05ZqD :: DIRECTED BY @ericwareheim. The second came on April 26, and features old lady boob+old man wang+exploding torso, all of which seems gratuitous and is backed by the very unexpectedly punk track from M.I.A.: video for that new MIA tune "Born Free" DRAMATIC RT @_M_I_A_ : OK NOT UMG FAULT! http://www.miauk.com/

April 12 Possibly of interest to the readership: All the hits from 80s movie dude John Hughes (The Breakfast Club, National Lampoon's European Vacation, Ferris Bueller etc etc etc etc every comedy to come out of that decade). OK! There is some 80s movie boolshitz in here get it quick. RT @thedailyswarm Download: 'The Music of John Hughes'... http://bit.ly/9DY7JK

April 12 Never been a fan of the xx or Notorious B.I.G., but Dead Wrong Intro (track 1 referred to in the post) makes both seem A-OKAY. Notorious B.I.G. has some ludicrous lyrics that manage to be both almost comically violent and homoerotic at the same time, while the xx seem to just sound creepy, like something bad happened and you need to feel guilty about it. Together: mildly humorous and eerie@sardless - on it, late: http://soundcloud.com/wait-what/sets/the-notorious-xx be sure to check out at least track 1

April 13 Swedish dudes Korallreven post 27 minute mix featuring Madlib and some others, is good. The duo says the mix is made up of songs that "make us feel the pure ecstasy of what in popular terms use to be called 'life'". Goddamn Swedes huh: mix by Sweden's Korallreven feat. Madlib, Pure Ecstasy, Toro y Moi, Teengirl Fantasy, Joy Orbison, http://bit.ly/ausulu [via GvsB]

April 13 This guy has shit loads of EPs and is CONSTANTLY promoting them on the twitter. The tags on the bandcamp page give an accurate summation of what is to be expected on these collections: "hip hop (real shit), Oxnard". Well mostly, not entirely sure what an Oxnard is (think its a place in California)... but if you hit that tag, you will be lead to yet another shit-ton of stuff, including The Sampler Pt. 2: Raw, Ruff & Rugged by Planet Ox, which is ____, so have fun with that: Check It - The Diverse Dialects EP - http://epsilonproject1.bandcamp.com/ Download album[s] @ name your price prices c/o @Audacityep

April 16 Multiple postings were made regarding the finding of and having of "Higher Vibrations", by Leonard Dstroy, on account of its awesomeness and in light of its generous free release. Later on in the month (April 30), Leonard informed us he will be releasing another freebie, "The LennySlitz Project", in May. Keep it coming, my dude. Higher Vibrations - Leonard Dstroy. Sounds like - Awesome. Get it 4 $0 @ http://leonarddstroy.bandcamp.com

Given the large quantity of material to be summarised and before this gets too tl;dr in length, we will conclude at the mid-April stage. Be sure to check back later in the month for PART II - The April sardless Continues...
