Top Method Man Did It For The Money Music Moments

Top 10 Method Man Did It For The Money Music MomentsYou've heard him on the radio, you've seen him on the tv show, Method Man is the Wu's most ambitious and publicly visible member.
Read on for a list of his most dubious music moments and then leave a comment with your favourite at the bottom of the page.

Method Man - "The Riddler" (1995)

Appearing on the soundtrack to the quite bad Batman Forever, this song isn't lazy like some of his recycled works, this lighthearted track at least features some clever lyrics:

I got your mind twisted,
Unrealistic wavelength draining on your brain-strip inflicted,
Crosswords puzzling your delf,
Questioning your own mental health (yeah) it's like a maze within itself

B-Real, Busta Rhymes, Coolio, LL Cool J, and Method Man - "Hit Em High (The Monstars' Anthem)" (1996)

There are two interesting things about this track. The first being that the Ticallion Stallion is once again on the soundtrack to a family movie, this time it is for the animated movie Space Jam. The second being that it is 1996 and Coolio is the world's biggest (top 40) rapper, Busta Rhymes is blowing up and at the time Method Man is possibly the least popular out of the five rappers.

Shaquille O'Neal feat. RZA & Method Man - "No Hook" (1994)

Again this track isn't that bad and it sounds like a leftover from 6 Feet Deep. Shaq raps ok on this one, but you would of thought that the Wu-Tang would of passed on this one after seeing Shaq's outragous dancing.

Texas & Method Man - "Say What You Want (All Day Every Day)" (1998)

The original song was pretty big back in 1997 and this remix was also big in 1998. The reason for being on this list it that Method Man's verses are recycled from 1998s Judgement Day (or possibly vice versa).

Method Man - "Know Your Role" (2000)

This track makes the list because (i) it is about wrestling, and (ii) it is about the wrestler "The Rock". Apart from some nice dancing, the video is pretty boring with it mostly being The Rock driving around and asking people to smell his cooking.
BONUS: The unreleased Kane's theme "Hell Fire".

Limp Bizkit feat. Redman, Method Man, DMX - "Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle)" (2000)

If you replaced Fred Durst with someone else, say I dunno ... Mick Jones, then you would have a decent track.

Limp Bizkit feat. Method Man - "N 2 Gether Now" (1999)

I will admit that there was a time, a time when I was young, really liked Method Man and bought the album because of this DJ Premier produced track. I can never forgive Mr. Meth for tricking me into buying a Limp Bizkit album, so welcome to the list.

Method Man & Redman - "Double Deuces (St. Ides Malt Liquor Commercial)" (1996)

Okay sure it is a commercial and St. Ides seems to be quite popular with having rappers represent their product, but this is just terrible. Funk doc (Methical) the veterans of medicine, Natural fruit juices, that alcohol beverage, Hey yo what are you a doofus? (Actin like you ruthless), Guzzle that St. Ides, Superman flies through the skies and Pineapple, coconut, lemon lime fashion, Mixed fruit, put it on ice and it be smashin, terrible, terrible, terrible stuff.

Bonus

As well as some unpleasantness around a movie and a tv show, there is also this gem:

Method Man & Redman - "Right Guard commercial" (2002)
