MF DOOM as Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villainrow17 Apr 06 |

A joint project between MF DOOM and Sound-Ink, it is MF DOOM's First and best release through the eyes of Viktor Vaughn (Victor Von Doom is Dr. Doom's real name in the Fantastic Four comics). For a change Metal Fingers does none of the production on this album. Instead SoundInk's talented producers such as King Honey and RJD2 do all the work. Set through the eyes of Viktor Vaughn the album ranges from violent, 'romantic', comedic and washed up celebrities as he travels from 2003 back in time and gets stuck in 1993, as explained on the track "Lactose and Lecithin":
The whole album contains no filler (even the skits are amusing and worthwhile) and is full of witty lyrics which will take a lot of plays to get.
This album sets the bar for the Super Villain theme, which was later IMHO perfected in the Madvillain album. There is too much gold on it to explain with words, you really just have to listen to it. |
